In its ongoing efforts to promote and develop volleyball throughout the length and breadth of Berbice, the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) presented two balls and a net to the Skeldon Back Centre
on Saturday last.
The equipment was handed over to Mr. Linden Murray of the Centre by BVA Secretary Mr. Levi Nedd. BVA President Mr. Gregory Rambarran reminded those present that game in the Ancient County and Guyana originated in Skeldon and urged Mr. Murray to use the equipment to revive the sport in the Upper Corentyne area.
Rambarran noted that the association is there to give support and challenged the centre to form teams that can participate at a high level. Mr. Murray in his remarks thanked the BVA for the gesture and promised to do his best to promote the sport in the area.
The opportunity was also taken by the BVA to present one ball and a net to the Skeldon Jets Volleyball team; receiving was Captain Akbar Husain from Nedd.
