The First Round of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) Over-40 20-Overs Competition sponsored by Raj Singh Insurance Brokers and Trophy Stall, has been abandoned as all the venues were water-logged resulting from overnight downpours.
As a result of the abandonment, points were awarded according to the playing conditions. The second Round will bowl off as scheduled, on Friday November 1, 2013.
This Competition has being reintroduced after a long gap and has attracted immense interest from the four constituted areas in Demerara with each providing two teams. Several former national players have been selected to participate and have been distributed quite evenly among the teams.
It is expected that a strong Demerara team would be selected to oppose their counterparts from the other Counties at a later date at the County level.
All matches will begin at 13:00 hours. Each Round will see four matches playing simultaneously at different venues.
