Sunil Dhanraj belted an attacking century as Young Achievers defeated Charity by 59 runs when action in the W and D Hotel and Mall T\20 cricket competition continued in North Essequibo.
At Charity, Young Achievers batted first and posted 210-3 in 20 overs. Dhanraj reached the boundary seven times and cleared it on ten occasions in a top score of 100, while Sheildston Britton made 56 (4×4,5×6); Ezra MacKalmon captured 3-18. Charity replied with 157-7 in 20 overs with Ryan Tang scoring 41 (5×4,1×6) and Sanjeev Ramdeen 37 (7×4). Tameshwar Dhanpaul took 2-11.
At the same venue in the afternoon match, the host overcame Eagles Sports by 10 wickets. Eagles took first strike and were skittled for 91 in 18.2 overs. Suraj Lall led with 50 (4×4,3×6) while Terrence Tulsieram grabbed 4-14, Devin Thakurdeen 2-16 and Ricardo Thakurdeen 2-25. Charity responded with 90 without lost in 6 overs with Tulsieram leading the way with 52 (7×4,3×6) and Keisho Rooplall 22 (2×4,1×6).
