The opportunity afforded consumers to view products and interact with staff at Guyana’s annual trade fair and exhibition- GuyExpo, far outweighs the financial cost attached to participating, says Kadirullah, Commercial Manager/Director of Toolsie Persaud Ltd.
Providing an update of the benefits the company is currently experiencing because of its participation in the recently concluded GuyExpo 2013, Kadirullah said many patrons who visited their booth are now customers of the Lombard Street store.
According to Kadirullah, while thousands of patrons viewed the store’s products displayed on the southern stage of the main pavilion of the Sophia Exhibition Centre, the real benefit of participating in GuyExpo is now starting to be felt.
Utilizing the advertising opportunity the trade exposition presented, the Company’s main exhibits were “Z” and “C” purlins roofing material as well a variety of decking materials.
He noted that the exposition allowed for consumers to become aware that these materials are being fabricated by Toolsie Persaud Ltd.
“Immediately we started taking orders…We just came on the market… our competitors were doing it before…But, of course we are doing different designs, sizes and depths and we explained the advantages and disadvantages,” Kadirullah emphasized. He related that while sales were not done at the exhibition site, orders were placed.
“Sometimes during GuyExpo, people want to buy but we don’t sell there so they come to the store. It’s a wide cross section of persons ranging from homeowners and contractors who visit the store to buy different items such as PVC pipes, doors, garden hose and plastic septic tanks.”
Kadirullah said the company is not threatened by foreign companies competing on Guyana’s market reiterating that he is confident about the quality of his company’s products.
