West Indies and Bangladesh will both look to take the lead in the seven match U-19 one day series when they face each other today at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence from 09:00hrs.
The home team won the first game by 6 wickets at the said venue, while Bangladesh rebounded to take the second by 63 runs at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda.
West Indies U-19’s will be boosted by the inclusion of wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran and will hope for an improved batting performance since only Leroy Lugg has scored a half century so far in the series.
Jeremy Solozano is an exciting player while Tagenarine Chanderpaul must rotate the strike more often, especially against the spinners. Shimron Hetymer, Tristan Coleman along with Pooran should provide support at the top of the order. The home team pacers Jerome Jones, Ray Joseph and Jofa Archer ought to find the Providence pitch more to their liking, while left arm spinner Gudakesh Motie Kanhai has proved economical.
The visitors batting has improved since the opening fixture with Uddin Jashim and Mossadek Saikat scoring half centuries in the second game at Bourda, and along with Nazmul Shanto will lead the visitors in this department once again, but it will be interesting to see how they cope against the West Indies fast men on a harder Providence track.
Pacers Abu Saeed and Abu Rony will look to make early in roads, while spinners Javed Rahut, Skipper Mehedi Miraj, Sadman Anik and Saikat are expected to give valuable support.
