Plans to start moving the first of three US$26M Wartsila generators from Archie’s Wharf, Parika to Vreed-en-Hoop, in Region Three, were stalled yesterday. The trip, for each of the 130-tonne generators, would have essentially caused delays on the West Demerara roadway.
The authorities were hoping to get a move on the engines within two days. The police had already issued a bulletin advising on the movement of the engines for yesterday.
The generators are for the 26 megawatts new power plant at Vreed-en-Hoop
