A Tactical Services Unit (TSU) rank who was said to have been the intended target in a recent killing is to be charged for shooting one of his colleagues.
The rank, who is a Special Constable, allegedly shot 22-year-old Christopher Albert, another Special Constable from the same unit, while playing with his firearm.
The incident occurred last July.
Albert had alleged that he was in the barrack room when the rank approached him saying, “I’s the bad man with a .383 .
He said that the constable then loaded a. 38 revolver with one bullet, spun the barrel and squeezed the trigger while pointing the weapon at him. When the weapon failed to fire, the rank reportedly reloaded the weapon with four rounds and shot the unarmed Albert in the stomach.
Some of the wounded rank’s colleagues took him to hospital while the shooter was placed under close arrest.
The accused rank was recently placed in protective custody after information surfaced that someone wanted to kill him.
