The home going service for the late national footballer Albert Barton will take place today at the Sandy’s Funeral Home, 1 Chapel Street, Lodge.
Viewing of the body will be from 13:00hrs with the service commencing at 15:00hrs. Barton received his final whistle on life last week Monday at the age of 81 after returning home on vacation from Canada where he resided.
He donned national colours in the 1950s and 60s as a right centre back and was referred to T’berts. Barton, who lived at Bent Street in Georgetown also played for Victoria FC, YMCA FC and Juicy FC and was employed at John Fernandes Ltd.
