An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for a Police Corporal of Sisters Village, East Bank Berbice,
after he did not appear before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to face a rape charge.
It is alleged that 36-year-old Huford David, within the month of January at Kurupung, Essequibo, knowingly engaged in sexual penetration of a 14-year-old Amerindian female.
The matter was subsequently transferred to the court of Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry for report and fixture on September 16.
David also faces a human trafficking charge which is before the court of the Chief Magistrate.
