– final round inter-county match washed out
The Senior National selection panel of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday shortlisted a 22-member Squad to participate in a Training Camp before selecting a 14-member Squad that will compete in this year’s Senior Regional Women’s Cricket Tournament in Grenada from August 5.
Demerara who beat an Essequibo Combined side in the opening round in the only match played in the three-day tournament, won the competition by virtue of that victory.
After final round of the senior female 50-over Inter- County competition between defending Champions Berbice and host Demerara was washed out at the Everest ground yesterday the following players were selected and are asked to report to the Chetram Singh Centre of Excellence at LBI from 10:00 hours today for the commencement of the camp.
Those selected in the squad are: June Ogle, Melanie Henry, Shemaine Campbelle, Katana Mentore, Trishanie Cort, Kavita Yadram, Tremayne Smartt, Joann Vansertima, Haseena Mohamed, Mandy Mangru, Jacquelyn Singh, Tessa Park, Leana Harris, Erva Giddings, Latoya Smith, Akaze Thompson, Phaffiana Millington, Latoia Toney, Natasha Gangoo, Heema Singh, Kumari Persaud, and Lashauna Tussaint.
