Police were last night hunting a Soesdyke man who killed a 24-year-old miner during a fight over the suspect’s reputed wife.
The victim, Kevin Harrison, was stabbed around 20:00 hrs outside the Ideal Road, Soesdyke home of his girlfriend, who is also the suspect’s reputed wife.
Kaieteur News understands that Harrison and the woman had started a relationship some time ago. People in the neighbourhood said that the woman had gone to live with Harrison after he returned from the interior a few days ago.
According to a resident, around 20:00 hrs yesterday, the woman, who was accompanied by Harrison, returned to her home to pick up her two children, aged about seven and four.
It was then that an argument broke out between the two men. This reportedly escalated into a fight, during which Harrison was stabbed.
The suspect fled the scene and was still to be apprehended up to press time.
When Kaieteur News visited the scene Harrison’s corpse was still lying outside his lover’s house.
