The Pepsi Sonics Basketball Club in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will be hosting a Vocational Basketball Programme, July 29-August 11, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, at the club’s practice venue, The National Gymnasium.
The programme will be targeting both boys and girls from primary and secondary schools, from ages nine to 17 years. The programme will include instructions on the fundamentals of basketball and other mechanics
aimed at improving the base of the sport.
“This programme is aimed at improving the fundamentals of players coming up in the game and ensuring that kids have something to do while they are out of school. I know that the children are looking forward for it,” Sonics President, Merle Casey indicated.
Personnel from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and other Youth Organisations will be invited to have discussions with the participants, who will all be recipients of ‘Certificates of Participation’ at the end of the programme.
