Competition in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Stag Beer senior league will continue this Saturday and Sunday at the Den Amstel Community Ground with matches on Saturday and Sunday.
Clashing in the feature game on Saturday are hosts Den Amstel and Bagotville /Nismes with the opener at 14:00hrs between Young Achievers and Wales United.
Sunday’s feature game pits Stewartville FC against fellow Stewartville based Eagles FC in what is anticipated to be an intriguing showdown. Opening play brings together Den Amstel and De Kenderen.
In latest results, Seawall FC defeated Jetty Gunners in a close encounter, 3-2. Scoring for the winners were Queesey Allen, Toine Lopes and Adermi Hoyte. Jetty got their goals from Gavin Da Costa and Sean Williams.
Bagotville/Nismes got by Beavers 2-1 on account of a Sebastian Edwards brace. Beavers’ consolation strike came off the boot of Clyde Anderson.
Stewartville hammered De Kenderen 5-0 led by an Owen Mc Garrell double. There was one each for Bruce Smith, Kester David and Donald Bobb.
The other match saw Uitvlugt Warriors downing Wales United 5-1. Jamal Henry netted twice with one apiece for Charles Stoby, Jamal Petty and Dwayne Wilson. The lone strike for Wales came from Reon Gentle.
