Akiel Greenidge stroked eight fours and one six in a top score of 84 as Barbados trounced Guyana by 152 runs in the second round of the Regional Under-17 50 over tournament yesterday at Shaw Park in Tobago.
Guyana won the toss and sent in Barbados who made 278 for 6 off their allotted overs. Nicholas Kirton supported with 69 not out (8×4 1×6) and Shemar Springer chipped in with 39 (3×4). Bowling for Guyana Brandon Persaud captured 2 -39 and skipper Travis Persaud 2-41.
Guyana, who dropped 10 catches when the Bajans batted were bundled out for 126 in reply.
Sherfane Rutherford made 28 (3×4 1×6) and Travis Persaud 25(4×4). Ryan Adams hit a quick fire 16 (1×4 2×6). Derwin Currency took 3-14 from 10 overs while Ian Boyce had 2-15 from 10 and man of the match Kirton 2-28.
