The Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL)\Regal Stationery and Computer Centre\Star Party Rentals\Trophy Stall \Mike’s Copy Centre and Salod Marketing Agency tournament will conclude today at the Everest Cricket Club ground.
Action gets underway from 09:30hrs with Regal XI playing Park Rangers in the over-35 category which will be a 20 over affair. Regal will depend on the likes of Anil Hardyal, Mahendra Arjune, Raymond Harper, Eric Thomas and Afzal Haniff, while Park Rangers will look to Ricky Persaud, Tony Singh, Danny Mohanram and Ron Ramnauth. The victorious team will take home $100,000, the runner up $50,000. The man of the match, best batsman and bowler will receive prizes.
The Female final between Regal Champs and Aroaima Rusal Warriors will get underway at 13:00 hrs. Nalini Sumintra, Don Nicholls and Cindy Chonoo will spearhead Regal’s challenge while Aroaima Rusal Warriors will look to Shondell Marshall, Vanessa Chapman and Linda Jones for success. The winning team will collect $100,000, the runner up $50,000 and player of the match will be given a trophy.
The male open final pits defending champions Regal against Wolf’s Warriors from 14:30 hrs in what will be a repeat of the 2012 GT&T 10\10 final which was won by Regal.
Richard Latiff, Chein Gittens, Troy Kippins, Safraz Esau, Mohamed Ayube and Rickey Sargeant will lead Regal’s quest for honours against Wolf’s Warriors Amit Rai, Safraz Karim, Azad Azeez and Dianand Persaud. The duration of the match is 12 overs and the first place team will grab $200,000 and a trophy, the runner $100,000 and a trophy. The man of the match, most outstanding batsman and bowler will also be rewarded.
