The semi-finals of the 9th edition of the Linden Secondary Schools Under-19 basketball championship has been shifted to today instead of yesterday, weather permitting at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court, Linden.
The matches were put off from yesterday due to rain which made the venue unplayable.
However, the Linden Amateur Basketball Association is hoping that the penultimate set of matches can be held where game-one at 14:30hrs brings together the unbeaten Christianburg Wismar Secondary and defending champions Linden Technical Institute.
Game two will see Linden Foundation Secondary bouncing against Wisburg Secondary.
Captain and leading scorer Travin Dryden will lead Christianburg/Wismar while LTI will depend on the leadership of Ian Williams.
Vibert Benjamin will lead Linden Foundations aim for victory while Wisburg’s charge will centre around Tahquille Johnson.
The matchups for both games are likely to be settled around some key players who have been playing sound basketball throughout this championship.
Expectations are high for today’s matches and the sponsors have shown their support for this year’s championship both locally and overseas.
