The disappointment experienced following Guyana’s failure to field a team of footballers at the just concluded FIFA Beach Football World Cup Qualifiers in Nassau Bahamas may still be fresh but Coach of the team, Rollin Tappin, stubbornly continues to employ initiatives towards the development of the sport.
As such he was recently elected as President of the Cool Runnings Beach Football Club (CRBFC) just after it was formalised into a fully functional entity, Wednesday June 12 last. The CRBFC has been in existence ever since 2010 and following a meeting comprising team members, the Executives were installed.
The other Executive members are Wanda Richmond (Vice President with responsibility for youth development), Dexter George (Vice President with responsibility for finance), Rowena Dejonge (Secretary), Rawle Gittens (Organising Secretary), Annazette Carew (Assistant Secretary), Jermaine Grandison (Club Captain) and Dexter David (Marketing Coordinator).
Already, Executives are putting the modalities in place towards a proper structure and are in the process of setting up of a bank account as well as a constitution.
Administrators have also indicated that they will be organising several competitions locally.
