Cyclists in Berbice, who recently completed all three segments of the recently concluded tough three stage annual event, were recently rewarded by the newly formed Trojan Cycle Club of Berbice.
The club made presentations to two of its cyclists for completing the race and another cyclist of a sister club.
Those rewarded were Dwight Holder and Ramiro Crawford of the Trojan Cycle Club, while Ray Millington of Flying Ace Cycle Club was also awarded as the only other Berbician to complete the event.
Crawford was also recognised as the youngest person to complete all three stages of the Race.
At a simple presentation ceremony, Automotive Paint Station of New Amsterdam presented the riders with trophies for their achievements while Furniture World was also recognised for sponsoring the club’s uniform.
The club in a release thanked the two businesses for their support while urging others to get on board to assist the youths.
It also encouraged the riders to continue riding and become national champions. (Samuel Whyte)
