A 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a friend of his on Orange Walk, Bourda, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the indictable charge of murder was read to him.
It is alleged that on May 27, last, Carlyle Barton, a well-known cricketer, murdered 41-year-old Shawn Nelson.

Barton was remanded as Magistrate Lovell added that the matter will be transferred to the Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry’s court on June 7 for report and fixture.
