Nottingham, England – Nottingham Badshahs II were the latest victims of Tagenarine Chanderpaul, the son of West Indies legend Shivnarine. The 17-year-old hit his third unbeaten century in a row for Stainsby Hall to inflict defeat on the Notts side in Division Six of the Newark Alliance.
The left-hander took Stainsby to 257-9 off their 40 overs. In reply for Badshahs, following up his four wickets, Ijaz Mahmood made 37 then Annan Ali (35) batted well. But 3-32 from Dale Humphreys, 2-12 from Ben Bignall, plus two bonus wickets for Chanderpaul put Stainsby Hall top of the pile.
A strong Notts & Arnold III’s beat previous leaders Beeston & Toton Sycamore by six wickets. Connor Brindley (48) and Craig Harrison (34*) finished the job started by Matthew Brindley’s excellent opening spell (2-9) that helped restrict BATS to 131-7.
Sandiacre Town’s John Murfin blasted 107 not out to chase down local rivals Heanor Town’s 204-6. Keyworth registered their third win at Kashmir.
After a flurry of early Kashmir wickets, Muhammed Irfan’s 77 forced their total up to 165. Irfan then took three wickets to put Kashmir firmly in charge until No.8 Liam Elliott came in to rescue Keyworth’s flagging run chase, blasting 64 not out to get them to their target with an over to spare at 167-8.
Tom Anderson (3-19) and Williams (48*) starred in a first victory of the season for Gedling & Sherwood against West Bridgfordians II (108), while new boys Rainbow have found their feet in Division Five.
