St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that the Regional Under-19 Tournament 2013 will be played in St Kitts. The tournament will now be played from July 17th to August 21st.
WICB had previously announced that the premier age group tournament will be played from July 10 to August 10 but the schedule has been pushed back by a week to accommodate preparatory camps of the various teams.
With regard to regulations for the Under-19 , Under-17 and Under-15 tournaments, WICB outlined that all players under the age of 18 MUST wear protective helmets at all times whilst batting and fielding within 15 yards of the striker’s crease.
ALL wicketkeepers under the age of 18 MUST wear helmets when keeping up to the stumps.
An ICC Americas Under-21 Team will participate in the 50 over leg of the Under-19 tournament.
WICB Regional Under-19: Players must be under the age of nineteen (19) years before 1st September 2013. Therefore each such player must be born on or after 1st September 1994.
WICB Regional Age Group Tournaments Schedule
Under-17 Tournament – June 29 – July 8 – Tobago
Under-15 Tournament – July 10 – 26 – Jamaica
Under-19 Tournament – July 17 – August 21 – St Kitts
The full schedule for each tournament will be announced once finalized.
