President Cameron meets with JCA

Kingston, Jamaica –President of the West Indies Cricket Board, Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron continues to keep his pre-election promises to meet with the territorial boards. Last week Mr. Cameron formally met with the Jamaica Cricket Association during their monthly meeting in Kingston.

President Cameron addressed matters pertaining to the upcoming Celkon Mobile Cup, the Caribbean Premier League and the roles the respective territorial boards should play in West Indies cricket.
Mr. Cameron also endorsed his earlier position that “the players are the most significant assets of the game,” but urged the 12 JCA officers present to be focused on “managing the institution of cricket using the structure through schools, clubs and the national programme.”
“There are some announcements to be made soon regarding retired players and more strategic partnerships with the existing players,” Mr. Cameron said.
He also used the opportunity to thank the members for their support in his campaign for the top post.
Cameron has already met with Guyana Cricket Board and the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board and is scheduled to meet with the Barbados Cricket Association this week.
