Edinburgh, St. Therese, All Saints, Vreed-en-Hoop, Kawall among the latest teams to register victories as play in the AL Sport & Tour Promotions Schools Windball Cricket Championships continued, at various venues across the country.
At Welfare Centre Ground-
In Girls semi-final action-Edinburgh beat Overwinning by 5 wickets.
Overwinning batted first and made 28-5. Celene Wilson ended with the impressive figures of 2-0-10-5 bowling for Edinburgh. In their turn at the crease, Edinburgh reached 29-5 with one ball to spare. Roseann Charles picked up 2-6.
St. Therese then defeated All Saints by 2 runs.
St. Therese posted 55-4 from their alloted overs with Trishel Joseph top-scoring with 10. Shontel Vancooten snared 2-12. All Saints in their reply were restricted to 53-3 when the overs expired.
In Boys semi-finals –
Defending New Amsterdam Zone and Region #6 champions Edinburgh beat St. Therese by 6 runs.
Edinburgh made 45-5. Rayon Rose bagged 2-8 bowling for St. Therese. They then restricted St. Therese to 39-4, Nicholas Amsterdam 11. Lamasham Sanichar and Lloyd David captured 2-10 and 2-19 respectively.
All Saints beat Overwinning by 6 wickets.
Overwinning totaled 23-9 with Shaquan George’s 4 wkts, being responsible for their meagre total. Keron Mc Andrew chipped in with 2wkts. All Saints closed on 24-4. Roberto Cassiano and Kevon Sandy each took 2wkts.
Over at Wales- Girls final- Defending champions Vreed-en-Hoop retained their title with a comfortable 10 runs victory over Patentia.
Vreed-en-Hoop batted first and made 35-2 and then retstricted Patentia to 25-4.
Former champions Kawall beat Viva-La-Force by 10 runs.
Kawall batted first and scored 41-6 with Satishan Singh 10. Viva-La-Forcein their turn in the middle were restricted to 31-5.
In the lone Girls game played at the National Park, Tutorial High romped to an easy 13 runs triumph over Queenstown Secondary.
Tutorial High batted first and scored 63-2, Mary Grant 20, Shaynial Jarad 18.
Queenstown Secondary replied with 50-6, Affeeza Sutton hit 15.
Bowling for Tutorial High, Tashauna Wintz picked up 3 wkts, S. Jarad 2 wkts.
Jagdeo giving Exxon 102 cent to collect 2 cent.
