After seven days of intense battles at the Paragon Ranges in Christ Church, Barbados, Team Great Britain emerged as the best, highlighting their world leaders billing, winning all the rifle shooting matches on their Caribbean tour.
They won the prestigious Australia Match last weekend beating Australia West Indies and Canada shooting at 300, 600, 900 and 1000 Yards.
Great Britain came out comfortable winners dropping some 48 points (1952) out of a possible 2000, hitting 167 V-Bulls. Australia was second with 1909 points and 130 V-Bulls. The West Indies ‘A’ Team, took the 3rd place accumulating 1791 points and 99 V-Bulls, Canada ended with 1741 points and 91 V-Bulls, International Magpies 1738 and 66 V-Bulls, while the West Indies ‘B’ Team brought up the rear with 1724 and 71 V-Bulls.
This win was Great Britain’s 23rd in the history of the Match; Australia has won it on 18 occasions, New Zealand 6, Canada 4. They had earlier beating the opposition in Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados during their tour.
