The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and National Sports Commission (NSC) Independence Table Tennis tournament will start on Friday at 3:30pm at the National Gymnasium with competition in the Under-9 and Under-11 categories.
According to a release from the NSC, the Opening Ceremony for the annual event will be held the next day at the same venue. The other categories to be contested include: Under-13, Under-15, Under-18, as well as Boys and Girls Doubles; Junior Mixed Doubles, 21 Years and Under Open and the Women and Men’s Singles competitions.
The tournament will be conducted according to the ITTF rules; trophies and medals will be awarded to the first, second and joint third place winners. Players must agree to compete against any other player as part of ITTF policy.
The technical meeting and draw for the competition will take place tomorrow from 5pm at the National Gymnasium. The technical meeting and draw will be made under supervision of Organising Committee representatives.
