Boxing fans gearing up for the 28th edition of Guyana Fight Nights organised by the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) and scheduled for May 31st next, will be a mite disappointed after organisers were forced to postpone the card until further notice after.
Initially, the organisers were told that the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) is undergoing repairs and is unavailable; they opted for the Sophia Exhibition Centre. However, following discussions, it was decided that that venue is not conducive to boxing activities and the card was postponed indefinitely.
Shawn ‘The Sniper’ Cox was scheduled s to oppose Kurt Bess in a 10 rounds non-title heavyweight shindig in the main attraction while Revlon Lake was down to fight Trinidadian based Guyanese, Dexter Gonsalves over 12 rounds for the Jnr/Middleweight belt. Middleweight, Romeo Norville, was billed to make his professional debut in a 4 rounder against Eversley Browne while Laured Stewart was also gearing up for his first professional bout against Anton Greene in a 4 rounds welterweight affair.
The organisers urge the boxers to continue training as they will release the new date shortly.
