Operations Manager of Marics & Co. Ltd Winston Willabus expressed delight when presented with the opportunity to join the growing list of sponsors to offer support for the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) March 24 Race Meet which is scheduled to be staged, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Willabus, who acted on behalf of the Company that is the local agent for Honda equipment, handed over a cheque for an undisclosed sum to Manager of the Club Rayon Samaroo, at the entity’s business location on Charlotte Street.
Samaroo in response thanked the Company on behalf of the Club for offering its support for the sport, adding that the club will endeavour to make the day an exciting one for the fans and to ensure that a high level of discipline is exhibited by the competitors throughout the day.
He also noted that with the support of the corporate community, the sport of motor racing is guaranteed continuity which will not only benefit the competitors, but all those who love the sport.
According to Samaroo, some 22 races are carded for the day and competitors will line up in all the different categories in what is already being hyped to produce some exhilarating performances.
The first race is set to begin at 09:00 hrs with the line up of competitors set for 08:30 hrs.
