The fatal stabbing of another teenager is engaging the attention of the police, this time it’s in the South Rupununi.
Police said in a statement yesterday that its ranks are conducting investigations into the murder of 14-year-old student, Camelos Arthur, of Achiwuib, South Rupununi, which occurred at about 13:30 hours yesterday.
Investigations so far have revealed that Arthur and a 15-year-old male student, who were both armed with knives, had an altercation on a playfield at Achiwuib, during which he was fatally stabbed to his chest.
He was pronounced dead at a Lethem hospital where he was taken after the incident. The suspect is in police custody assisting with investigations.
