Gang leader caught with ganja in crotch in jail

Prison authorities are convinced that they have busted a drug operation within the prison walls.This was after a convicted prisoner who is  serving a 13-year term for robbery under arms and suspected to be a gang leader and running a drugs ring in the New Amsterdam prison, was nabbed.
Navin Busjit, 30, of Corentyne, Berbice  was caught with a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems of what was suspected to be the Cannabis  Sativa plant concealed  in his crotch on January 7, last.
Prosecutor Corporal Orin Joseph informed the court that Busjit is incarcerated at the New Amsterdam Prison. He stated that on the day in question the man was in the precincts of the jail when he was seen acting in a suspicious manner.
He was taken into custody by alert prison officers and searched. The search unveiled what was suspected to be drugs in a plastic bag in his crotch.  The substance was tested and weighed and determined to be 43 grams of marijuana. Busjit was subsequently charged with “introducing narcotics to the New Amsterdam prison”.
In court he pleaded his innocence and denied knowledge of the charge. He was taken back to jail where his trial is set to commence on February 1.
