Dear Mr. Editor
The members of the Upper Demerara Cricket Association (Linden) would like to express our support for the Cricket Administration Bill which will legalise and restore order to our beloved game.
We have been waiting with great expectations for this bill to be passed so that we in Linden would at least be credited with the appropriate legality to participate in Demerara and Guyana Cricket Board’s activities.
The Upper Demerara Cricket Association applied for membership in the year 2000, which would have allowed us to be part of the cricket fraternity, access funds and be part of the cricket development structure, but was conveniently ignored by those in control.
It has been thirteen years since our application to be part of Guyana’s Cricket and we are earnestly soliciting the help of all parties in Parliament to support our cause, for if not, we would be left in the wilderness forever.
Our children and indeed our people in Linden and the Riverain areas without a doubt do not deserve this.
Thank you.
Bradley Fredricks
President
Upper Demerara Cricket Association
