An accident at Lamaha and Carmichael Streets claimed the life of a young man last evening when a speeding car slammed into him while he was walking with his girlfriend.
Dead is 22-year-old Rodwell Brummell of 25 ‘A’ Montgomery Richard Hill, Linden and of 20 ‘B’ Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.
The man, who was an employee of Farfan and Mendes Ltd, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. His girlfriend was not injured in the accident. The vehicle sped away after hitting the victim.
Reports reveal that the police retrieved a bumper at the scene of the accident. However, there were no eyewitnesses.
