Sahadeo’s ton guides Speed XI to Factory Price Softball title
Toolsie Sahadeo slammed 11 sixes and 5 fours in an attacking 104 as Speed XI defeated Ragnauth XI by 10 runs in a feature 30 over softball match sponsored by Factory Price on Friday evening at the Georgetown Cricket Club Ground, Bourda.
Ramo Malone 35 and Wazeer Mohamed 27 were the other main run getters as Speed XI posted 273-9 off their allotted overs, batting first. Imran Khan claimed 2-23 while there was one each for Komal Persaud, Wayne Osborne and Mahendra Balgobin.
Ragnauth XI despite losing a few early wickets put up a strong challenge as they finished on 263-9 when their overs expired. Persaud led with 53 (4×4 3×6) while Chandreka Ragnauth supported with 52 (4×4 2×6) and Shoaib Namaz 35. Arjune Persaud picked up 3-28 for the winners.
Sahadeo captured the man-of-the-match and best batsman awards while Ricardo Adams of Ragnauth XI took the prize for the best catch. Both teams received trophies.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Factory Price, Toolsie Sahadeo said he was pleased to sponsor the game and congratulated both teams for their efforts.
