Hand-in-Hand Fire and Life Insurance Company became the most recent entity to offer its support to the Caribbean ‘Race of Champions’ Meeting which is scheduled to be held on November 11, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Inspector /Director of Sales and Marketing of the Company Navin Ramlochan made the presentation of an undisclosed sum to Manager of the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) Rayon Samaroo at the entity’s Head Office recently.
According to Samaroo, Hand-in-Hand has been a consistent
supporter of motor racing over the years and took the opportunity to thank the Company on behalf of the club for their continued patronage which has added to the high quality of racing over the period.
The Meet which is the final leg of the Caribbean Championship will see drivers from Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Cayman Islands and the USA descend on these shores to battle the locals for regional supremacy.
Currently, Jamaica leads the points standing with 113 points followed by Barbados on 64, Cayman Islands lies third on 26 and Guyana in the cellar on 21.
In the battle for individual supremacy, Summerbell, after copping a second and two third place finishes in Barbados, maintains his lead in the drivers’ Championship after six races, with 50 points and he will be supported by Peter Rae and Andre Anderson.
Defending Caribbean champion Roger Mayers along Doug and Mark Maloney will lead the Bajans battle against the rest of the Caribbean, while the locals will be spearheaded by the evergreen Andrew King with support from Mark and Paul Vieira, Vishok Persaud and Kevin Jeffrey.
Meanwhile, Rent-A-Tent Catering & Hospitality Services will once again be providing the VIP Pavilion experience to fans who would like to watch the races in a relaxed atmosphere.
Tickets for the 6000 square foot Pavilion is being sold at $22,000 for adults and children Under 12 is $11,000 and these prices include admission to the races, secure parking, children’s park, local & foreign bar, air-conditioned restrooms, breakfast, lunch and snacks all day and hot & cold beverages.
