Sky Bird Travel & Tours & Delta Air Lines recently conducted
a travel agent workshop for the Guyana market.
The event was organized at Italian restaurant Villa Russo in Queens NY, over cocktails and dinner, and was well received by the participants.
An established airline consolidator with over 35 years of experience, Sky Bird Travel & Tours is a recognized leader in the airline industry. Headquartered out of Detroit, Michigan, the family-owned business with nine offices in North America, has successfully grown to represent as a wholesaler, over 85 airlines in USA and Canada.
Mr. Marek Kusek – Sr. Sales Account Executive, Delta/KLM/Air France spoke of Delta’s commitment to passengers traveling to Guyana. He announced the upcoming Delta Terminal 4, and stressed that the new facility would enhance the overall experience of flying Delta, and add more comfort, allowing for smoother transfers at JFK Airport. He also highlighted the new Economy Plus class being offered to passengers at a marginal supplement. “WI-FI connectivity, interactive video games, and a wide selection of movies complete the overall passenger experience.”
The travel agents in turn were able to voice their own specific client feedback and concerns. The opportunity for an interactive session, thanks to Sky Bird Travel’s innovative presentation, was much appreciated by all.
Ravindra Lal, Regional Manager for Sky Bird Travel and Rupesh Velji, Manager of Sky Bird New York reiterated the company’s ongoing plans for travel agents. They highlighted the ease of working with Sky Bird and the advantageous edge in technology offered to travel agents, where they can work smarter, better and faster with 24/7 ticketing support – 365 days backed by excellence in service.
In support of the Guyanese community and associated travel agencies, the occasion was also graced by the Consul General Brentnol Evans, who gave glowing reviews of Delta’s professionalism and high standards of service on ground and also on board their flights to Guyana. He complimented Delta for their interest to service the Guyanese community.
Door prizes were awarded by Delta – three air tickets to Guyana, while Sky Bird Travel gave away IPod’s, video cameras, DVD players and other items to all the participants.
In closing, everyone agreed that the openness of the relationship showcased by Sky Bird Travel & Delta with the travel agents in the market was most definitely all about “Winning Together” towards a common destination – Georgetown, Guyana.
