National under-15 player Akshaya Persaud slammed two centuries in the West Demerara Cricket Association under-15 cricket competition which culminated last Sunday at the Wales Community Development Centre Ground.
Akshaya, who played last year for Guyana in the Regional under-15 competition, slammed 130 with six sixes and Thirteen fours for the Cornelia Ida team against a strong Zeeburg Cricket Club line up.
Akshaya then scored 103 in the zone finals for West Coast against a West Demerara team. He hit the boundary boards six times while clearing the Wales CDC boundaries three times.
This promising young cricketer also took four wickets in the Zone finals.
Meanwhile, the West Demerara Cricket Association has announced the following squad to participate in the DCB inter association fixtures scheduled to commence on May 1 at the Everest Cricket Ground.
Squad: Akshaya Persaud – Captain, Narendra Persaud – Vice Captain, Jonathan Paul, Chietnarine Puran, Naresh Persaud – W/ Keeper, Vickram Talmakund, Lookhnauth Chinkoo, Daniel Basdeo, Travis Persaud, Nicolai Reddy, Malcolm Hubburt, Shivram Mahesh, Aviskar Ramgobin, Azad Ally, Keshram Seyhadan.
Standbys: Neil Mc Lean, Yogesh Mahabir, Niraj Da Silva.
