Teachers and parents of the Kiskadee Kids Daycare and Playgroup all combined
to stage an attractive display of hats to usher in the Easter season on Friday, at the school’s Headquarters on Queen Street, Kitty.
The hats which were exhibited by the toddlers who attend the school were a scenic demonstration of imaginative handicraft and creativity done mainly by the parents with some assistance from the teachers.
Headmistress of the school, Desiree Albert, said that the event is held annually and apart from ushering in the Easter season, the endeavour is also meant to allow the children to be engaged in clean fun with their parents.
Also in attendance was top costume designer, Carol Fraser, who was in charge of the activity, guiding the kids through their modelling sequences in the presence of parents and guardians.
Fraser, one of the more experienced and respected designers locally commenting on the show, said that she was really impressed by the way the kids modelled their hats, adding that from what she had witnessed there were few aspiring models in the line-up.
“I was really impressed with their ability to display the hats and I’m hoping that from among them I can possibly capture a few to do some work with in the future.”
Some of the parents speaking about the event said that they really enjoyed the activity, adding that they got the opportunity to showcase their individual talent and creative skills.
Albert said that the hat show has now become a feature on the school’s calendar of events.
