Way cleared for Guyana’s continued participation in Regional 4-day competition

The release stated, “As a result of the situation in Guyana there has been speculation regarding the Barbados v Guyana Regional 4 Day match scheduled to start on Friday March 9th at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
The WICB confirms the following:
1. The match will proceed as scheduled
2. The Guyana squad will travel to Barbados tomorrow (today) Wednesday, March 7th 2012
3. The Guyana squad which has been participating in the Regional 4 Day Tournament will continue to do so save for one change as noted below.”
The Guyana Squad as indicated by the WICB release: Christopher Barnwell, Ronsford Beaton, Brandon Bess, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Derwin Christian, Royston Crandon, Narsingh Deonarine, Assad Fudadin, Trevon Griffith, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Leon Johnson, Veerasammy Permaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan.
Head Coach: Esuan Crandon, Team Manager: David Black, Assistant Coach: David Harper.
The release informed that, “Devendra Bishoo who was previously in the Guyana squad has been selected to the West Indies squad for the first three Digicel One Day Internationals v Australia and is encamped with the West Indies squad in preparation for the Digicel Series.
Chanderpaul, having been originally named in the Guyana squad at the start of the Regional 4 Day Tournament, but who missed the first four rounds of matches to play in the Bangladesh Premier League has replaced Bishoo.”
