Dear Editor,
I find the following quote rather interesting and pertinent to the times in which we live, especially in Guyana.
“The truth will withstand scrutiny, but a lie, no matter how skillfully crafted, will wilt and wither under the intense heat of an inspection” – Rod Parsley (a popular American Preacher)
With the many revelations in the media and the robust denials, deflections and justifications of those so accused, it may be necessary to apply some heat to test the veracity of the various responses.
People who hold high office should learn to take refuge in silence. The wise of the wise pronounced that, “Even a fool is considered wise when he holds his tongue.”
Proverbs 17:29. Solomon further informs us that, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” Proverbs 25:2. In this regard I am realizing that many of our kings have little or no glory.
Just an aside. I would advise against our media cameramen focusing on our “big ones” at national observances, especially during the singing of the National Anthem.
It is embarrassing to note that many do not know the words of the National Anthem especially the second and third stanzas. Let’s just test it.
