The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) National Sevens Team currently
in preparation for the Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens 2012 which will be staged from March 23-25 held an intense practice session at the National Stadium yesterday.
The team which recently returned from a warm-up tournament in Las Vegas, USA will be representing the NAWIRA region at the high level tournament that will have in attendance the best teams in the Sevens format.
After complaining of their preparations being severely affected by the inclement weather heading into major competitions, the Union approached the Government of Guyana for permission to use the top level facility and was granted permission to do so.
More sessions will be conducted at the same venue on the following dates and they include February 29 and March 7 from 16:30 hrs, while March 3 will commence from 14:30 hrs.
Rugby fans and those interested in familiarizing themselves about the game could attend the sessions on all or any of the days.
