Entries for the Kennard Memorial Turf Club Phagwah Meet close on Saturday March 4. An exciting day of races and unbridled fun is planned for the club’s Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice headquarters on Sunday March 11 where seven races have been planned.
No late entries will be accepted and Owners and trainers can have their horses registered through Justice Kennard (226-1399, 225-4818 0R 623-7609), Roopnarine Matadial (325-3192), Ivan Dipnarine (331-03160, Lionel Moonsammy 614-5812) or Isabelle Beaton (325-3007, 693-7812).
The feature attraction, a race over 7 furlongs, will see several thoroughbreds classified D1 and lower battling for a first prize of $500,000.
The race among the 3 years old Guyana and West Indies bred horses also over 7 furlongs is another key attracting on the card for a first prize of $400,000. The G1 and lower horses will also run over 7 furlongs for a winner’s purse of $300,000.
Other races includes the I2 and lower for $160,000 prize, J and lower for $120,000, H1 and lower for a $220,000 purse, all over 6 furlongs.
The next meets by the club are scheduled for May 20 followed by another on August 12, October 14 and December 26.
