DEAR EDITOR,
Permit me space to correct a gross misstatement being peddled by one of your columnists Frederick Kissoon. This is the second time I am reading this nonsense he is peddling and as a result I want to set the record straight. I am also sending you back-up information.
Since 1997 I have been the point person for the PNC/R for the Mahaica-Cane Grove Area.
For the just concluded Regional and General Elections, I was one of two candidates working there. In fact I can safely say without fear of contradiction that I was in charge of the election machinery for the APNU in both areas.
In the fifth paragraph in the Freddie Kissoon Column in your Friday 24th Edition, he made mention that ”the AFC and APNU did not have polling agents in many PPP districts. I know that for sure in Cane Grove where some mischief took place”.
I don’t know where Mr Kissoon got this false and fictitious story from, but I can tell you that all nine (9) polling stations in Cane Grove were manned by APNU polling agents.
One thing of note, the PPP/C did very poorly in these areas as against previous elections. If you request I can send you the relevant figures.
Earle Lambert
