Although the two Mahaica poison victims are out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), their family fears the worse since both father and son are complaining of continuous stomach pains.
Sukdeo Dharamdat, 48, and his son Chaitram, 17, have been transferred from the ICU to the Male Medical Ward.
Yesterday, when Kaieteur News visited Dharamdat, he revealed that he was feeling “weak” and could not move. But he was angry. He said that he will never forgive his daughter for what she did. “I prefer she de go with the boy and leave the family but she choose to poison my family.”
From his hospital bed, he said that he is thinking about his son. He also said that his mind is on his farm which was under water. “I have the biggest farm there (Mahaica) and now everything is done,” Sukdeo added.
The 17-year-old Chaitram was unable to speak but indicated that his stomach was aching.
According to a relative, Sherly, she doesn’t know what will happen. The woman said that based on her observation, the victims’ conditions have not improved.
Meanwhile, the 14-year-old who confessed to lacing her family’s hassar curry meal with a potentially deadly dose of Monocrotophos was charged on Tuesday last at the Mahaica Magistrate Court with attempted murder of her parents and three siblings.
On February 9, last, five Hansome Tree, Mahaica, family members were rushed to the Mahaicony Cottage hospital after they had eaten a meal of hassar curry.
The persons were subsequently transferred to the GPHC.
The mother, Nandranie Sukdeo, 38, and her two daughters, Hemwanttie, 16 and Muneshwari, 13, were treated in the Female Wards and later discharged.
