There is never a dull moment in the lives of some, especially when they are new to the country. The Brazilians have brought their entrepreneurship to Guyana and they are succeeding at a time when Guyanese are turning their attention elsewhere.
However, there are always those who try to make hay off the successes of others. These are the people who will deprive others of their gains. A group of gunmen would be targeting a Brazilian establishment in the city, not because it is Brazilian, but because there is the perception that it is backed by a lot of money.
The police would have an idea of the leaders but certain communities remain mum. The zenith would be achieved when the very police target a group who happened to be meeting for a planning session. There would be a lot to write to Mother about.

The roads are no less safe because of the preponderance of motor vehicles. There will be delays and impatience. One young and inexperienced motorist would pull out from a line rather suddenly and create a catastrophic accident.
The end result would see the police making a hash of prosecution because one of the ranks would demand an inducement.

Another racket will be uncovered in a government department. Auditors would uncover a fraud of immense proportions. The calls for the head of the department would begin. Resignations would follow.
Where is the BETTER MANAGEMENT/RENEGOTIATION OF THE OIL CONTRACTS you promised Jagdeo?
