The 13th Annual International Olympic Committee (IOC)-funded Sports Administrators Course continued yesterday at Olympic House with the participants being exposed to several topics that are deemed important in the Olympic Movement.
The second day of the course opened with Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) Course Director, Claude Blackmore addressing the subject “Challenges facing sports in developing countries” prior to GOA Treasurer, Garfield Wiltshire’s presentation on “Budget and Money Management”.
Blackmore then addressed the issue of “Volunteerism” before Abigail Caleb spoke on the issues of “Sports Nutrition”. After the lunch break, the participants went through presentations on “Women in Sports”; “Marketing and Public Relations in Sports”; “Values and Ethics in Sports” before the curtains came down on the second of the four day course. The IOC Sports Administrators Course will conclude on Sunday after which the participants will be handed certificates for their participation. The GOA has made the course and annual feature since it has proven beneficial to the development of sport in Guyana.
