– Devers hopes for the best in T&T as he leaves for treatment
The President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), Ramsay Ali donated $500,000

yesterday afternoon at GCB Office, Regent Street, in support of Sean Devers health situation which recommends urgent overseas treatment.
Devers was diagnosed with Gilioma by a Jamaican based Brain Surgeon, earlier in the year. The cost of surgery is around 20 million dollars.
Executive members of GCB as well have made their personal donations to Devers who is expected to leave for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday for treatment of his illness.
Commenting before the presentation of the funds was made to Devers, Ali stated that Devers is someone who lives and breathes cricket and as a result saw it worthy to make the donation of which he knows will assist with his threatening illness.
The President added that Devers is someone they (GCB) can use to get their priority right, since he always present the facts when writing especially on cricket. He further stated that it was a plus for them (GCB) as they were in the position to lend a helping hand to Devers.
An Executive member of the Board, who described Devers as a good adviser, disclosed that they came close to the amount the GCB donated to Devers.
Speaking with Devers after the presentation, he emotionally stated that he appreciated all the support he has gotten and indicated that GCB donation was the second he has received with the Guyana Softball Cricket Association (GSCA), CaribbeanCricket.com and GuyanaCricket.com being the first.
He also added that he will be departing Guyana for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday and that will determine if the operation will be done depending on it severity of his brain cells which is damaged by the Gilioma. (Juanita Hooper)
