Director of the Child Protection Agency (CPA) Ann Greene says that no child or their relatives should be fearful of coming forward with information of molestation. The Child Protection Agency, she said, does not tolerate persons trying to thwart the course of justice when children are looking for sanctuary against molesters or anyone committing illegal acts against them.
This statement comes in connection to reports to the police of threats being made by the mother of four of the boys allegedly raped by a Muslim Scholar. In this incident, the boys’ mother alleged that she received death threats from two members of the Turkeyen Masjid following the court appearance of the accused.
Speaking on the matter, Greene said that the police are expected to play an essential part to ensure the safety of the concerned persons. She said that to maintain the wellbeing of children and their family, the Child Protection Agency keeps a strong relationship with the Police Force.
The woman said that under the Child Protection Act, persons have the right to report incidents of molestation committed against children without being fearful for themselves or their children. She also touched on the point that legal action is inevitable for those wishing to detour persons seeking authoritative assistance.
Greene said that on the other hand, anyone who needs strict confidentially about any illegal act committed against a child can look forward to that, since the agency provides means by which persons can feel comfortable to lodge their reports.
According to the agency head, persons can call the organization’s hotline or they can meet privately with staffers if they wished to report acts committed against children.
The woman also said that anyone having information about child molestation or other and is scared of being targeted should contact police ranks the instant they are threatened or feel fearful for their wellbeing.
