The Honorary Secretary of the Georgetown Cricket Association, Ms. Deborah
McNicholl recently presented a food hamper on behalf of the Executives of the GCA to the Georgetown Cricket Club’s slow left-arm bowler, Trevon France, who suffered when fire destroyed his home last year.
Other Executives present at the presentation were Colin Alfred (P.R.O), Mark Harper (Chairman-Senior Selectors) and Dennis Wilson (Assistant-Treasurer) at the GNIC Sports Club Pavilion.
The association is not only concerned about the cricket development of players but also other aspects of their lives including education. In this case, the association noted the welfare of France following a serious family tragedy.
Meanwhile, the GCA held its Annual General Meeting and Elections recently at the GNIC Sports Club Pavilion where Roger Harper was returned unopposed as President. Harper would have Azad Ibrahim and Neil Barry as his Vice-Presidents, Deborah McNicholl – Hon. Secretary, Capt. Ron Daniels – Asst. Secretary, Dennis Wilson – Hon. Treasurer, Harry Parmesar – Asst. Treasurer, Colin Alfred – Public Relations Officer, Abzal Khan- Marketing Officer and Shaun Massiah – Competition Committee Chairman.
All the positions were un-contested. Also, it must be noted that the delegates from both the Georgetown Cricket Club and Everest Cricket Club exited the building
before the commencement of the Elections, reasons being unknown.
