Mr. Jairam was unanimously reelected to the post of President when the Guyana Draughts Association
(GDA) held its annual General Meeting (AGM) at its 185 Carmichael Street, South Cummings burg headquarters, Saturday January 28 last. This marks the third consecutive year that he is serving in that position.
Patrick DeFreitas was elected Vice Chairman and will also be the auditor, while Khemraj Pooran retained the position of Secretary. Charles Hetemeyer was installed as the Treasurer while Wayne Forde also retained the position of Organizing Secretary. Balleram Ramdeen and Mark Braithwaite are the two trustees while the three executive members are Troy Griffith, Marlyn Ali and Glenrick Jardine.
Meanwhile, President Jairam presented a detailed report of activities for the preceding year while outlining plans for the new dispensation. He disclosed that his executives will act as host to Suriname in a return encounter of last year, later in the month. The games will be played utilizing the 100 square boards.
