With this weekend’s Fun-Day being used as a precursor for the February 5 Meeting at the South Dakota
Circuit, motor racing fans will certainly have a quick double dose of excitement over the next week.
The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club will be hosting a Meet for rookie car drivers, ‘B’ Class Super bikers, 125cc motor bikes and karters both in the same Shifter and Rotax categories with each division assigned three races and among those slated to compete are top Group 4 drivers Mark Vieira and Kevin Jeffrey, karters Stanley Ming Snr, Marcus Fiedtkou and Shane Ally, while Carey Griffith, the current ‘B’Class Super bike champion is anticipated to lead the bunch of riders in that category.
In the Group 2A Division, the likes of Shairaz Roshandin and Aaron Bethune will battle each other for supremacy.
However, once again the rivalry among the upcoming young guns in the go-kart segment is expected to produce he exhilaration that fans love to see and those lined up to take starting orders include Elliot Vieira, Matthew Vieira, Mikhail Seereram, Denzil Hopkinson, Raymond Seebarran, Alex Fiedtkou, Matthew and Jonathan Phang and Edward and Alex Powers for the boys, while the girls will be spearheaded by Britney Seereram, Emma Vieira, Stacy and Serena Ming and Alexandria Phang.
