After years of unceasingly playing the lottery, Sandra Singh’s dream came true last week.
She is the winner of the Lotto Supa 6 jackpot for the January 11 drawing.
The Guyana Lottery Company (GLC) Limited yesterday presented Singh with a $6M cheque at its Robb Street outlet in the Guyana Post Office Corporation building, Georgetown.
She related that the money will be used to erect a small, comfortable house so that her family could “finally live together”. Singh, who is a cashier at a City guesthouse, lives in Georgetown, while her husband and six children reside on the East Coast of Demerara.
The elated woman revealed that she has been playing Lotto since the company was established in Guyana and won small sums of money from time to time.
According to the company’s Marketing Officer, Donielle Barnes, Singh is the second winner for 2012, while the winner of the $36M jackpot for December 24, 2011 drawing is yet to come forward.
Barnes disclosed that the ticket for that drawing was purchased in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), and the purchaser has three months to claim the money.
